Amanda-Jade Wellington, a leg-spinner, got off to an impressive beginning to her cricketing career when she became the youngest player in the history of the Scorpions to participate in a senior match.

As a result of Wellington’s previous success at the national level in the indoor version of the game, she was chosen to join Alex Price in the Australia A Women’s squad for the 2015-16 season.

Her selection came as a result of a fantastic season that she had with the Scorpions, during which she led the way with the ball and ended up as the leading wicket-taker in both the 50-over and T20 formats. Her season helped the Scorpions finish in first place.

She took 25 wickets in the two forms, in addition to making a lot of useful contributions with the bat, and the combined total was 25.

In 2016, Wellington made her debut for Australia in an international one-day game against South Africa. In 2017, she made headlines around the world with a spectacular ball that bowled Tammy Beaumont during an Ashes Test.

Despite the fact that she was cut from the national team in 2018, she continued to dominate on the domestic scene, and she was rewarded for her efforts by being called back into the national team in advance of the 2022 World Cup.
