The OPTCL Recruitment 2025 is open to candidates who have passed their 10th grade (HSC), ITI, or diploma in electrical or electrical & electronics engineering and who are under 32 years old.

OPTCL Trainee Selection Process 2025
For Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee
There are two steps in the selection process:
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Skill Test
- Verification of Documents, Medical Examination, and Skill Test
- The applicants’ performance will determine the final merit list, with the Computer-Based Test (CBT) receiving 80% of the weight and the Skill Test receiving 20%.
For the Electrical Junior Management Trainee
The selection procedure includes the following:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Personal Interview
- Personal Interview Verification of Documents and Medical Examination
- 20% of the final merit list will go to the interview, and 80% will go to the computer-based test (CBT).
Exam Pattern for OPTCL Recruitment 2025
For Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainees
- There will be 200 questions covering the subjects of English, GK & Reasoning, and Numerical Ability.
- Each right response will receive one mark, while each incorrect response will result in 0.25 points being subtracted.
- Those who meet the requirements for CBT will be summoned for the skill exam, which consists of hands-on activities like electrical maintenance and tower climbing.

Junior Management Trainee (Electrical) Interview Exam Pattern:
- Candidates were chosen for the interview (category-wise).
- At least 50% of the potential points must be awarded to candidates in the unreserved category. For candidates within the SC, ST, and PWBD categories, a least qualifying score of 40% is needed.
The selection procedures for both trainee posts are different and depend on post category. After completion, junior management trainees will be placed on a one-year probationary period as junior managers (electrical). After finishing their training, junior maintenance and operator trainees will be placed on a one-year probationary period as assistant technicians.
